Nominations for APSTA Officers and Directors-at large for 2019-2020

The APSTA Nominations/Elections Committee is currently accepting nominations from our membership for the APSTA Board positions listed below. All nominees must be current APSTA members, the nominations must be received no later than 6:00 PM on June 30, 2019, and may be submitted by contacting the Committee Chair via email, phone, or text (see the information below). Nominations may also be made in person at the regularly scheduled APSTA meeting on July 13, 2019. Copies of all nominations received will be forwarded upon receipt to each member of the committee for review. Those members nominated will be requested to submit a brief (1-2 paragraph) biographical summary for inclusion in the ballot mailing.

After the close of the nominations period, ballots will be generated and mailed (no later than the last week of July) to the membership for voting. All completed Ballots must be received by the nominations/elections committee prior to the annual membership meeting held on the Saturday before Labor Day (August 31st, 2019 this year), where they will be opened and tallied.

Board Officers

All 5 Officers are elected each year and there is one vacancy (president) this year. The officers listed below confirmed they wish to continue in their current roles and are eligible to serve this year, however additional nominations from the membership can be made for any of the officer positions:

  • President: Vacant
  • 1st Vice President Andrea Novak, incumbent
  • 2nd Vice President Ben Houston, incumbent
  • Secretary John Murphy, incumbent
  • Treasurer Carol Rippee, incumbent

Board Directors-at-Large

Two Directors-at-Large positions will be elected this year. The APSTA Bylaws were modified at the June 8, 2019 Special Membership Meeting to require a total of 6 Directors-at-Large at this time. One sitting director has completed two terms and is not eligible to be considered, and one director confirmed they wish to continue in their current role and is eligible to serve this year. Additional nominations from the membership can be made for any of the open Director-at-Large positions:

  • Kay McCord, incumbent
  • Vacant

The sitting Directors-at-Large (Board Members) listed below are still serving current terms and their positions are not currently up for election:
