It’s that time again for the Annual Coastal Clean-up Event at Alligator Point. We will be meeting at Harbor Point Realty parking lot on Harbor Point Road near the Firehouse, on Saturday, September, 19th 2015 at 8:30 am.
The Allilgator Point\St. Teresa Association would like to emphasize cleanup activities on Alligator Point particularly the revetment and along the three beach walkovers. The beach also needs cleanup.
Alligator Point Beach: Easy Difficulty. Much of the beach can be walk easily. Accessible by any of the three Franklin County Beach walkovers along Alligator Drive. Walkovers are located at Chip Morrison Drive, the foot of Fiesta Drive and at the “S” curve on the West end of Alligator Point.
While Alligator Point Beach and the revetment are of primary concerns, this year St. Teresa Beach will be one of the concerned areas to be cleaned up. Another area of concern will be the Ochlockonee Bay shorelines which can be accessed by the HWY 98 bridge boat ramp.
St. Teresa Beach: Medium Difficulty. During low tides much of the beach can be walk fairly easily. Kayak/Canoes will work great for this area. Accessible from HWY 98 about 4 miles west of Alligator Drive turn off. Lenard’s Landing has a sand boat ramp.
Volunteers should bring or wear:
Sunscreen, Bug spray, Water bottle, Protective Clothing (hat, long pants, long sleeved shirt, Closed toe shoes or water shoes and Gloves).
Volunteers will be provided with: Trash Bags and drinking water
Come on out and enjoy a day giving back to our Florida Coastline that we all enjoy so much and are real fortunate to live near.
