Alligator Point Taxpayers Association Minutes Special Board Meeting February 16, 2002
President Linc Barnett called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. The meeting was attended by Frank Gibson, Dick Waters, Joe Hambrose, Doc Carr, Tony Cherri, Barbara James, Jim McCachren, and Rudeen Moon. Linc Barnett reviewed the discussion and member survey conducted at the February 9, 2002 regular monthly meeting of the Board regarding the marina planned for the St Joe/Arvida SummerCamp development. There was general discussion regarding the marina and the high potential for negative impact on Alligator Harbor. Joe Hambrose then made a motion that APTA formally oppose inclusion of a marina in the development and that APTA work jointly with other community organizations which oppose the marina’s inclusion in the SummerCamp development. Tony Cherri seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. Linc Barnett asked if the Board wished to participate with APECO and ABARK in video taping the Franklin County Board of County Commissioner meetings, the Franklin County Planning and Zoning Commission meetings, and the Franklin County Board of Adjustment meetings. Linc stated that the purpose of the video taping is to provide a documented record of the proceedings for use by the county and the public should the need arise. Rudeen Moon made a motion that APTA join this project. The motion was seconded by Doc Carr. The motion was unanimously approved. A motion to adjourn was made by Jim McCachren and seconded by Dick Waters. The meeting ended at 1:45 p.m.
