Growth and Economic Development Workshop

Proposed Objectives

  • To clarify Franklin County growth and economic development issues and options
  • To develop recommendations for how these issues can be addressed
  • To test for community consensus on the recommendations
  • To determine next steps needed to develop these and other recommendations

6:45 Recommendations for Addressing Growth and Economic Dev. Issues

(in small groups organized by topic)

Establish an order for addressing subtopics with a show of hands

Develop recommendations for as many subtopics as time permits

Individual review of the issue and options workshop report

Solicit recommendations to achieve the desired outcomes

Refine and seek group consensus on each recommendation; if there is not consensus, draft an alternative recommendation; work quickly

Repeat for other subtopics and review results if time permits

Select a reporter for your small group

8:00 Break (then return to the full group)

8:15 Consensus Testing (in the full group – for each group)

Presentation of recommendations by the group reporter

Consideration of suggestions for refinement (as time permits)

Acceptability ranking of recommendations on computer scorable forms

Repeat for the next group
