Special Announcement WATER USE EMERGENCY The Alligator Point Water Resources District declared a water use emergency at its regular scheduled meeting held Saturday, May 17, 2003. Water production by the district has been severely limited due to the failure of the new well field to produce sufficient supply to meet peak demand and the continued drought conditions. The following are highlights of residential water use restrictions in effect immediately:
The restrictions apply to all customers served by the District. Customers that violate the policy will receive one written reminder notice for the first violation within a calendar year. The second violation the District will assess the user a $50.00 fee. A third violation during the same calendar year is $150.00 and any subsequent violations within the calendar year shall result in a $500.00 fine. The fines will be included in the customer’s next billing. Fees not paid within 30 days will accrue interest of 10% per annum and could result in disconnection. A copy of the entire policy is posted at the District’s office, 1378 Alligator Drive, Alligator Point Florida.
