Posted August 9, 2005 As We Recover Houses, Roads, Trees and Sand have been shaken, ruffed-up and moved. Things are out of order from what we knew them to be. Our hearts and minds have been besieged with unforeseen sights and loss. As we work towards physical recovery let us consider our own personal recovery. Our hearts, minds and bodies need time to heal. We need some downtime to re-energize. As we recover, let us take time to rest, to witness nature, to share a kindness with someone and to laugh. As we recover let us do it with the spirit of…let us also make it better!
P.S. My neighbors celebrate three summertime holidays together: Memorial Day, the Fourth of July and Labor Day. Last year we added a 4th celebration. We call it "Crab Daze" and we celebrate it on whatever weekend we can all get together. Last year we didn’t catch enough crabs for dinner, but that did not stop the fun, instead, we had a fish fry. Dennis will not stop our fun this year. We are celebrating "Crab Daze" this weekend. In addition to having fun and maybe a crab dinner, we plan to cleanup our road…together!
