Franklin County has applied for a Florida Department of Transportation grant to widen and resurface the Alligator Point road from US 98 all the way to the Marina. The county will learn sometime in the next several months, possibly this Fall, if the grant application was successful.

The value of this project is not only the benefit of resurfacing, but also as a safety measure by widening the lanes to 11 feet from the current 9 feet
