Dear residents of Alligator Point, I am a local artist who makes pine needle baskets from needles and other tall grasses that grow in this region. It would be wonderful if other local artists and craftspeople who are interested could form an arts & crafts league. We could meet every month or six weeks at a convenient location. I have found that being in the company of other creative individuals is both stimulating and interesting.

To start, if you are interested contact me. Hopefully we can have a membership meeting to gather ideas. We can have a covered dish dinner and introduce ourselves…and our art or craft. It would be a "show & tell."

Thus far, I have been contacted by two artists and if we start with two that is a beginning. Our guidelines are few. If you consider yourself an artist, than you are one. You can gather ideas and discuss the creative process as it differs between individuals. Among us are writers, painters, hobbyists and there are no limits to the local talent. Beaches always are appealing to creative people.
