AP Beach Renourishment Public Hearing

Comments

Camille Tharpe, with Government Services Group, discussed preliminary findings for the Alligator Point Beach Renourishment Project last night at the Public Hearing for the project. An estimated 20 people from Alligator Point attended the meeting.

Ms. Tharpe’s presentation in the form of a hardcopy of a PowerPoint slideshow was distributed to the Alligator Point attendees. APTAWEB will contact Ms. Tharpe next week to get the electronic version of the slideshow for posting on our web site. The information presented by Ms. Tharpe was preliminary and presented to show a "worst case scenario", but she fully expects cost to be less than presented.

The end result of the Public Hearing was the continuance of the Hearing to the December 19th County Commission Meeting at 5:45 PM. At that time both the "Resolution of Intent" and the Ordinance will be up for discussion.

Ken Osborne is actively pursuing getting meetings arranged to inform residents of the financial details of the project. He is endeavoring to get information available for discussion at the next APTA meeting December 9th.

Until then, please do not get caught up in speculation or rumor. Ken Osborne and APTA are already hard at work to get information to share with you.

APTAWEB advises that you logon often to our web site to keep up with the news and to learn of any meetings that could be scheduled on short notice.
