Northwest Florida Transportation Corridor Authority October18th Meeting

Report from APTA’s President

APTA President, Ken Osborne attended the NW Florida Transportation Corridor Authority meeting in Apalachicola on Thursday, Oct.18th and reports that the Authority will conduct Franklin County Public Workshops to receive input on routes through St. James Island. The first meeting will be at the Carrabelle Senior Center, Tuesday November 13th, 5:00pm.

Ken states, "After a number of protests, including yours truly, we are assured that this will not be a show and tell, and we were able to move the site from the small boat club in Lanark to a larger facility.

You will not be presented with predetermined routes, but rather overlays showing conditions i.e. wetlands, critical access, storm surge etc.  The routes are to come from the workshops, so our input is critical."
