Notes from the December 18th County Commission Meeting

By APTA President Ken Osborne

 1. The Commission passed a resolution allowing an MSBU on Alligator Point Renouirishment project should the project be approved. This is the same as last year which is an enabling resolution with no numbers and dies if the project does not go forward.

 2. Board action to sign DEP Beach Restoration Agreement, 07FR2, which ties up some of the state matching funds for the Beach Renouirishment Project. When the Board increases public access the amount of funds that the State makes available will increase. (This action passed unanimously)

 3. Board action to direct the County Attorney to investigate the type of easement Mr. J. Don Nickols has, to see whether it can support conversion to a public beach access point on Alligator Point. ( this action passed unanimously)
