Alligator Point/St. Teresa Volunteer Fire Department priorities for capital improvement projects.
The Alligator Point/St. Teresa Volunteer Fire Department has formed a committee to consider priorities for future capital improvements. Fire Chief Steve Fling recently appointed a committee to recommend to the board priorities for future capital improvements. These discussions are a result of the recent increase to the Municipal Service Benefit Unit fee (MSBU).
Current committee members include: Steve Fling, Paul Parker, Jim Cummins, John Murphy, Dale Jones, Suzanne Walker, Jim Apthorp (representing APTA), Fred Dickinson (representing Bay North), and Michael Eaton.
The committee conducted its first meeting on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Mission by the Sea Church. Future meetings are to be set by the Chairman, Steve Fling.
Projects under consideration include: Construction of a new two story fire house near the corner of highway 98 and 370 (on land donated by St. Joe Paper Company), a new ladder fire truck, a fire boat and other needed equipment.
